are all-rounders and play a significant role in anti-ageing, as they can rejuvenate, tighten and hydrate the skin. They help with pallid skin and even counteract pigmentation marks. Leucine, proline, glycine and glutamine are supposed to reduce wrinkles, methionine protects the skin against harmful substances, arginine can regenerate skin damage, lysine strengthens the skin and histidine is said to have calming and antioxidant properties. Creatine (produced by the body from the amino acids arginine, glycine and methionine) plays a role in cell renewal, and is essential for the formation of elastin and collagen.

Amino acids are vital: The non-essential ones can be produced by the body itself, but essential amino acids must be absorbed through diet. Amino acids are carbonic acids. They can build up body tissues. All proteins
(proteins) are composed of amino acids. Amino acids
can do even more: as the base products for many compounds, they take on important metabolic functions in the body.

If there is a lack of amino acids, which could be caused by stress, poor diet or chronic illness, this can be harmful to health. This could result in infections or joint problems. Obesity or diabetes can also be caused by a lack of amino acids, which disrupts the metabolism. For example, L-Carnitin, which is needed for the fat metabolism, is made up of the two essential amino acids lysine and methionine. Or histidine: infants cannot produce it themselves, therefore, it must be added to the baby’s diet. This also applies to arginine, cysteine, histidine and tyrosine, which are required during the first few days of life.

Today, we know of approx. 500 natural amino acids. The amino acids required for building proteins are particularly important; they occur most frequently in nature.

Function: Active ingredient

Ensures beautiful, smooth and firm skin. The skin is cushioned because hyaluronic acid has the ability to absorb moisture into the skin. As we get older, the body produces less. Astonishing results can be achieved by channelling hyaluronic acid into the upper layer of skin. This means improved hyaluronic content and the skin can store more moisture.

Hyaluronic acid can absorb very large quantities of water. However, it can do even more: it forms an invisible, air permeable film which can protect the stratum corneum of the skin from drying out, in the case of low air humidity.

Function: moisturiser

is a real beauty secret weapon. It ensures a smooth complexion, moisturises, regulates and is said to help with acne.
Lactic acid is one of the alpha hydroxy acids, but removes hardened skin much more gently than others in its group. At the same time, it has water storing properties and acts as a moisture booster.

Lactic acid is an endogenous substance, which regulates the pH value of the skin, as part of the skin’s own acid protective layer.

Lactic acid is also known in the food industry. So for example, yoghurt or butter milk is pro-duced via lactic acid fermentation. Lactic acid bacteria help to keep the gut healthy. As it has an antibacterial effect, it is popular as an additive to cleaning agents, as a descaler and even helps bee-keepers who treat their bees with lactic acid against the varroa mite. This shows how gentle this acid is, which occurs during the degradation of sugar and carbohy-drates, but is also manufactured synthetically in the laboratory.

Function: pH value regulator

is a fruit acid and appears in its natural form in lemons, oranges, limes, mandarins and grapefruits, and even in tomatoes and berries for example, where you wouldn’t expect them. However, it is also manu-factured industrially and used in the food industry.

Citric acid can be used to control the pH value of the skin. Depending on the area of the body, the pH value fluctuates between 4.5 and almost 7. The pH value of 5.5 is considered pH neutral or the optimum for skin, and ensures a slightly acidic environment. This means that micro-organisms cannot multiply and metabolic processes can run smoothly. The hydrolipid film of our skin, the acid protective layer, is also in this slightly acidic range.

Function: stimulates collagen synthesis.

Chamomile extract has anti-inflammatory properties, and is a natural ingredient which can be extract-ed from the essential oil of chamomile. Bisabolol has a healing effect on skin problems, has an antibacte-rial, antimycotic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic effect and provides mild pain relief. Dry, easily irri-tated and easily cracked skin will benefit from this active ingredient.
Bisabolol has lower allergy potential than chamomile itself, which has been one of the best known medic-inal plants for centuries.

Function: increases the elasticity of the skin.

As the name suggests, malic acid is found in apples, but also in grapes, quince or berries. It is what provides the sour taste in the fruit.

During ripening, the malic acid content decreases in favour of fructose. A scientist isolated the acid from apple juice for the first time in 1785.

Malic acid, like citric acid or lactic acid is a fruit acid, also known as alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) which have a variety of effects. They are used in exfoliants for example, cleanse down to the pores, refine the complexion and can even stimulate collagen formation and lighten pigmentation spots. Malic acid also combats wrinkles, skin ageing, acne and tired skin.

Function: promotes skin smoothing

Vaccinum myrtillus leaf extract is a bioflavonoid with an antioxidant effect. The secondary phytochemi-cal in the fruits, so called anthocyanin, protects the cells and possibly even has more impact than vita-min C. Therefore, it can strengthen the immune system, boost anti-inflammatory effects and slow down skin ageing. It also gently stimulates the circulation which strengthens the capillary walls.

The extract is often used in nutritional supplements, and should improve visual acuity and help with eye complaints such as cataracts. Yet, the blue berry can do much more: it has positive neuroprotection effects in the area of anti-ageing and cardiovascular diseases. It can regulate blood sugar and diges-tion, and is even a weapon against cancer and dementia.

Was sind eigentlich Hydroxysäuren?

Function: desensitising, antibacterial effect

is the most important active ingredient in clove oil, but also a natural component of bay leaves, basil or bananas.

Eugenol is also used in the perfume industry due to its intensive fragrance. It is used in dentistry as pain relief and an anti-inflammatory agent. That is why people chewed cloves in the Middle Ages when they had toothache. Now, Eugenol is even used as an environmentally friendly insecticide.

In the cosmetics industry, Eugenol is used as an anti-ageing ingredient. It has a high percentage of antioxidants and is used to combat free radicals. Eugenol is effective against bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Function: cooling

Organic-chemical compounds from menthol and lactic acid. They are used in the cosmetics industry because they provide a cooling effect, which lasts for a relatively long time and makes the skin feel fresh.
Menthyl lactate is used as a flavouring in hygiene products or toothpaste.

Function: Active ingredient

is the skin’s own natural moisturiser, which can be used pure, but also added to moisturising substances such as oil/water emulsions. It is added to facial waters and serums, but also body care creams and lotions. It is amongst the water absorbent substances that form an aqueous solution on the skin.

Sodium PCA is also used in hair care, because it makes it easier to comb the hair, gives it volume and counteracts antistatic charges. Behind the name sodium is a sodium salt. PCA stands for esters or salts of polyglutamic acid.

Function: preservation

are used in cosmetic products as a plant-based preservative. They regulate acidity, stabilise and are a moisturising substance. Calcium gluconate is also used in medicine as an emergency injection or infusion solution. For example in the case of poisoning or hypocalcaemia, an abnormally low calcium content in the blood. It is also added to other active ingredients in osteoporosis products.

Function: Active ingredient

Magnesium is present in various organic and inorganic compounds, which can only be distinguished by their compounds, from a chemical point of view. Magnesium gluconate is an organic magnesium combined with gluconic acid salt. Magnesium is vital for many bodily functions, particularly the muscles and nerves. It is also needed for skin metabolic functions and can activate about 200 enzymes.
Regarding the skin, it activates the impact of vitamins and protects it from external influences. It also helps to remove waste products.

(Vitamin-A1-Palmitate) | Function: Anti-ageing active ingredient and antioxidant

They are used in skincare because they contain anti- ageing active ingredients and also help with dry or blemished skin.

Retinol is known for repairing damaged cells and stimulating cell division. This means that the wrinkle depth can be reduced. It is more stable to combine retinol with palmitate, and this is only converted into retinol in the skin. Therefore, it is also milder than pure retinol which can cause redness.

(stable, water soluble form of Vitamin C) Function: Antioxidant

Apart from retinol (Vitamin A) it is one of the strongest anti-ageing vitamins in skincare. It can make skin firmer, lighten pigmentation spots, moisturise and prevent inflammations. It is also used on blemished skin. As an antioxidant it provides sun protection. Vitamin C is also used against age spots because it inhibits excessive melanin production.

(synthetic vitamin-E-derivative) | Function: Antioxidant

They are free radical inhibitors and can improve the moisture retention capacity of the skin and help with UV related skin damage. As a vitamin E derivative it is converted to vitamin E in the body.

Vitamin E is also used in healing ointments, because it promotes cell renewal.

(Trade name: SYN-AKE®) | Function: Active ingredient

The formula of MESO CHEEK LIFT is enriched with SYN-AKE® .
SYN-AKE® is a synthetic peptide which can reduce mimic wrinkles through local treatment. It mimics the effect of the real venom of the temple viper. This reduces muscle contractions.

It is not real snake venom. SYN-AKE® is produced in a laboratory and based on a patented mechanism. It inhibits the transfer of the nerve impulse to the muscles and relaxes the facial muscles. It is a safe alternative to Botox.

also known as DMAE, is an organic substance and an important antioxidant in the cell membrane. When applied to the skin, DMAE can firm, smooth and define facial features on the neck and chin.

Some people say that DMAE is Botox in cream form, but that’s not true. DMAE has the exact opposite effect. Whilst DMAE stimulates the musculature, Botox blocks and paralyses it. That is why DMAE is not recommended for deep lines between the eyebrows, but is more intended to firm the skin on the neck.

The local application of DMAE can significantly improve and rejuvenate the appearance of the face. It is supplemented with components that promote the correct development of muscle tissue and could contribute to cell revitalisation. Therefore, DMAE is perfectly suited to customers with old and tired skin.

Function: Skincare substance

This active ingredient is an organic derivative of seaweed, which is called ALGISIUM in its basic form. This is synthetically stabilised and should have a cleansing effect.

Methylsilanol Mannuronates are antioxidants which can prevent premature ageing. They have long lasting moisturising properties which counteract the decomposition of collagen and elastin fibres. That is why the compound has a skin firming effect. It is also known that the compound can combat free radicals.

They provide the skin with moisture and should influence the decomposition of collagen and elastin fibres. The combination of DMAE, elastin and Methylsilanol Mannuronate makes the product excellent at combating loss of firmness

(Vitamin B3 derivative) | Function: Active ingredient

is a water soluble vitamin from the B group and essential for the body. It is primarily absorbed by eating meat and fish. Lower quantities are present in fruits and grains. In cosmetics, it can ensure an improved skin structure and is a popular additive in anti-ageing products. B3 helps with enlarged pores and can minimise wrinkles and lines.

Function: Active ingredient

Alongside collagen, it is a natural component of the connective tissue, and ensures elasticity and firm-ness. The endogenous substance moisturises the skin and improves the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Elastin gives the skin a protective layer. Less elastin is produced in the skin the more it ages, be-cause the cells only divide half as much as in young skin. Therefore, elastin can significantly improve the skin’s condition as an anti-ageing substance.

Function: Active ingredient

Serenoa serrulata fruit extract can reduce hair loss.
Is primarily used in men, specifically to relieve the initial symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia, a benign enlargement of the prostate. When treating prostate enlargement with serenoa serrulata fruit extract, it was discovered almost by accident that it stimulated hair growth.

MESO HAIR LOSS CONTROL optimises the production of keratins by ensuring permanent bioavail-ability. Already after the recommended period of use of 10 weeks, the diameter of the individual hair strands is significantly increased, and hair looks fuller overall.

-> Precursor to B-Vitamins, Provitamin B5 | Function: Active ingredient

is popular in products for sensitive skin, as it is very skin friendly. It is a viscous, colour-less, slightly sticky substance with a discreet signature smell. Panthenol is highly soluble in water and alcohol.
It has moisture retaining, skin calming and regenerative properties, strengthens the pro-tective barrier function of the skin and improves its elasticity.

unction: Active ingredient

has a double effect on hair loss. On the one hand it has an anti-androgenic effect: 5-alpha-reductase converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in its most biologically active form. This is re-sponsible for premature hair loss.
Zinc inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase and therefore the excessive production of sexual hormones. On the other hand, it contributes to the formation of keratin and collagen. A zinc deficiency can be a trigger for hair loss.
Zinc PCA is an essential trace element which the body cannot produce itself. When added to cosmetics, it is primarily effective on oily and blemished skin because it regulates sebum production. It absorbs moisture and keeps micro-organisms in check. This has also been proven in haircare.

Function: Active ingredient

is seen as a miracle cure in Chinese medicine. When used as an anti-ageing aid, ginseng can promote cell growth and the ability of the hair to absorb collagen.

Studies have shown that participants who took ginseng had reduced hair loss. In animal testing, ginseng improved the condition of the fur of the test animals.

Furthermore, the active ingredients are said to have a positive effect on the whole body system. Ginseng is said to help with stress, strengthen the immune system, regulate blood pressure and help with chronic illnesses.

Function: Active ingredient

is a soya protein which is manufactured from the chemical processing of natural soya. It is popular with professional athletes as a nutritional supplement, because it promotes the development of muscle mass. It is also used as a dietary food. It is even used for animals with feedstuff allergies. It has several effects as an additive in haircare products: it is antistatic, makes the hair easier to comb, silky, shiny and voluminous.

Function: Active ingredient

is a plant-based active ingredient extracted from the allium cepa bulb, and rich in antioxidants. The secondary plant substances stimulate hair growth naturally. Therefore, the allium extract is often in-cluded in the ingredients of tonics to promote hair growth. It helps to regenerate the scalp and prevent hair loss by strengthening the roots of the hair.

Allium cepa is also used in the homoeopathic remedy of the same name. It is reported to have a positive effect on conjunctivitis, allergies, asthma and sinusitis amongst other things.

->Vitamin B7 / Vitamin H | Function: Active ingredient

Biotin strengthens the hair
Biotin is a B vitamin that is a component of some metabolic reactions and the regulation of the blood sugar level. Biotin is sometimes also called vitamin H or vitamin B7. The vitamin is water soluble and the body cannot absorb too much of it, as it is excreted in the urine after a certain level.

Thanks to this vitamin amongst other things, MESO HAIR LOSS CONTROL is an effective remedy against congenital hair loss, and can contribute to hair health. Glucose is an important energy source to maintain bodily functions and enable peak performance.

Biotin plays a crucial role in the glucose metabolism, and the vitamin is essential to protect the body against wear and tear. Both cell growth and cell renewal are dependent on Biotin. The vitamin contributes to the health and regeneration of the hair and plays an important role in the maintenance of many other bodily functions.

Biotin is the vitamin that allows hair to look healthy, strong and beautiful.

Function: Active ingredient

was transformed into a water soluble state by enzymatic processes. Apart from hyaluronic acid, colla-gen is amongst the most effective anti-ageing boosters and can delay collagen breakdown during age-ing. It is also popular in nutritional supplements. Collagen is the most frequently occurring protein in the body, for example in the bones, ligaments, cartilage and connective tissue.

The body’s own production decreases with age, the connective tissue loses firmness and wrinkles occur. Collagen can effectively counteract these as an additive in beauty products. It strengthens tissue pro-duction, can improve elasticity and reduce wrinkle depth.

Function: Active ingredient

Contains valuable minerals such as magnesium, potassium, iodine, zinc and selenium. The salt in sea water smooths the skin and counteracts fine wrinkles. Sea salt is also a secret weapon against cellulite. When used as an exfoliant, it clears pores of toxins which are responsible for excess water being stored in the tissue. This is how cellulite is formed.

The minerals and trace elements in sea water also have a detoxifying effect. Due to its anti-inflammatory characteristics, it is also used for skin complaints such as neurodermatitis and acne.

Function: Active ingredient

is seen as a power algae, as it has a wide range of effects and is even able to destroy cancer cells. It detoxifies, promotes circulation and moisturises the skin. In addition, it boosts cell renewal, feeds the cells with oxygen, strengthens the resistance and has an anti-inflammatory effect. It is suitable for combating stretch marks and cellulite. Chlorella contains large quantities of chlorophyll and vitamins, trace elements, fibres and amino acids amongst other things. That is why it is also often used in dietary supplements.

Trade name: Argireline® | Function: Active ingredient

is a gentle alternative to Botox and is hyped as the shining star of anti-ageing in the beauty world. The high-tech peptide is a substance synthetically produced to effectively treat skin lines and wrinkles. Peptides are chemical and organic compounds that contain amino acids. In contrast to Botox, Argireline® is non-toxic. The wrinkle killer blocks the messenger substance acetylcholine (ACh) and therefore the muscle activity. Because the more ACh is transported into the muscle, the more it contracts and the deeper the wrinkles become. Botox is a neurotoxin with all the associated side effects, and can change the facial expressions grotesquely. Argireline® does not paralyse the face. It is only introduced into the top layer of skin and does not block the muscles completely. This means that the facial muscles remain active and the expression looks relaxed and younger.
Argireline® was developed in the laboratory by Dr. Martin Rodbell. The biochemist proved that cells communicate with each other via messenger substances, and received the Nobel prize for medicine in 1994.

Function: Active ingredient

Sodium hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid, but does not have its depot effect. Howev-er, due to the smaller molecule size it can penetrate the skin more easily. It is primarily used in medicine. The salt of hyaluronic acid also improves the skin’s ability to absorb water, and makes it clearer, firmer and more radiant. It can also have a big impact on wrinkles and lines. The sodium salt also provides a stable film of moisture on the skin.

Function: Active ingredient
has been used in skincare for thousands of years. It is valued for its moisturising, cleansing, antioxidant and anti inflammatory effect.

Avena Sativa kernel flour has proven to be an effective active ingredient in many skincare products. It contains a range of active components, including polysaccharides, proteins, lipids, saponins, enzymes, flavonides, vitamins and avenanthramides (polyphenols).

Function: Active ingredient

Aloe Vera or Aloe Barbadensis is used for all forms of burns, whether caused by rays, thermally or the sun. It has also been shown that Aloe Vera has a soothing effect when used on the skin.

Many of the benefits of Aloe Vera can be attributed to the polysaccharides contained in the gel of the leaves.

However, there are other substances in the Aloe Vera extracts which have useful properties:
amino acids, anthraquinone, enzymes, organic and inorganic substances, fats, carbohydrates, lignin, salicylic acid, saponins, sterines and vitamins (B1, B2, B6, C, B-carotene, choline, folic acid and A-tocopherol).

UV light is considered the main cause of skin ageing and therefore wrinkles and slack skin. The thinning of the ozone layer in the past decades has further exacerbated the problem. Those who use daily UV protection should have around 25% less wrinkles than those that dispense with sun protection. The right protection not only pre-vents wrinkles but also skin cancer or hyper pigmentation.
Skincare with a UV filter should also be used after mesotherapy.

Function: Active ingredient

is a secondary plant substance, which helps the skin to reduce pigmentation or age spots, by slowing down the production of melanin. This means that the spots can fade over time. The skin is not bleached as some think, but simply prevented from becoming darker. Arbutin can also reduce the appearance of blemished skin. It is extracted from plants or produced in a laboratory.
Arbutin naturally occurs in blueberries or raspberries, but also in coffee or red wine. Arbutin is also used in herbal teas to relieve bladder problems, because it paralyses the pathogens of urinary tract infections.

-> stable vitamin C | Function: Active ingredient

is a stable water soluble Vitamin C derivative, and used in cosmetics to brighten the skin and as an an-ti-ageing agent, because it promotes collagen formation, particularly in mature skin and counteracts free radicals. In addition, it can prevent age spots and helps to protect the skin against UV rays. It also has an anti inflammatory effect on blemished skin.

Function: Antioxidant

is the metabolic product of a fungus and also a by-product of fermentation of certain foods such as soya sauce or rice wine. It originally comes from Japan. Kojic acid is used for skin brightening and to balance out the colour, because it influences melanin production.

The body produces melanin with the help of the amino acid tyrosine. Kojic acids inhibits tyrosine, which in turn reduces melanin production. The pigmentation is reduced, and after a few weeks the skin ap-pears more regular.

Kojic acid is also effective on acne, age spots or sun damaged skin. Freckles and pigmentation spots can be lightened.

is an extract of the liquorice root with a depigmenting and brightening effect on the skin, as glabridin inhibits melanin as a tyrosinase inhibitor. It is also used to reduce stretch marks. The root also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and is therefore also suita-ble for blemished skin. Glabridin protects the skin against sun damage and is an antioxidant. As a flavonoid, the substance is attributed an oestrogen-like effect.

Function: Active ingredient

is extracted from an Asian legume plant which forms very long tubers containing starch. In Japan they are cooked and eaten. The roots contain isoflavones which are structured similarly to the hormone oes-trogen. That is why the Kudzu bean is also described as a phyto-oestrogen. Its active ingredient sup-ports skin brightening and ensures an even complexion. The Japanese plant also stimulates collagen production.

Processed in nutritional supplements, it should help with alcohol and smoking withdrawal and is used to relieve menopausal problems.

Function: Active ingredient
An innovative, plant-based active ingredient with an illuminating effect. Its action is based on bioluminescence.

It can absorb UV radiation and transform it into a light that gives the skin a brighter, younger, healthier and naturally radiant appearance. This property is actually a trick of the great mullein (Verbascum Thapsus) to attract pollinating insect and therefore ensure its continued existence. By transforming UV radiation into visible light, it appears brighter and more radiant and therefore attracts bees and other pollinating insects.

The phytocomplex of the great mullein also works as a UV filter.

This alpine plant with golden yellow flowers also has numerous flavonoids with wound-healing properties. Since ancient times, it has been considered as a traditional medicinal plant and is used to cure coughing and hoarseness.

Its extract has antimicrobial, antiseptic and astringent properties and acts as a natural antioxidant.
